The Good News
WEEK 2: THE GOOD NEWS!
Malo e lelei everyone!
So crazy how fast time flies when you're getting lost in the work. I hope y'all had a great week! Just want to say how thankful I am for each of you for checking in on me and your words of encouragement! I promise I've seen all the facebook comments lol just choosing to be obedient.
One of the great things I have to share with you all - is my love I have grown for missionary work and being a missionary. Here in the MTC we learn to not only rely/lean on our Hoa (companion) but also our district. And man how much I love my district. We are called the Helaman District, all from different parts of the world. I've seen so many great quailites of each Elder and Sister in this District that I want to apply to myself, as we prepare to teach the people of Tonga in 4 weeks! Something that I have learned from our district, is how to be dillgent as a missionary. While studying Preach My Gospel the quote, "He called us and trusted us even in the weakness He knew we had. He knew the trails we would face. By faithful service and through His Atonement, we can come to want what He wants and be what what we must be to bless those we serve." This stuck with me.
My district has set that standard for me, as we devote all our attention to learning of the Doctrine of Christ. I have loved how we all say "Dial In" when its time to get to work. For me, I have a grown a greater love for all missionaries. We leave our homes to serve the 2 years or 18 months of our lives to share the message to people who have not heard of the Gospel. Serving a mission is a choice. Watching my district through our struggles, yet we still have so much desire to learn here with all that they are preparing us for, makes me appreciate each District member so much more. To all the Elders and Sisters in my Helaman District who read this,I want to tell you all how grateful I am for each of you and how much I love you and so excited to be serving with you! I look forward to learning and making more memories with you all.
But the greatest news I can share with you all is the gospel. Being here in the MTC I have come to know more of the gospel and how much happiness and comfort we can find as we come to Christ. To end this email I want to share my testimony with you. God lives! He loves you and wants you to know that He cares for you. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is another testament of Jesus Chirst. I know that Jospeh Smith is a true Prophet and that He did really restore the Gospel through His faith. I know that families can be together forever. I can testify that our current Prophet Russell M. Nelson is a true Prophet of God and that tthe messages he shares with us, is to help us become more like the Savior. My invitation this week is to come and learn of His Gospel. Like it says in 2 Nephi 26:33 it shares that He invites, " all to come unto to Him and partake of the goodness; and he denieth none that come unto Him."
I love you all and hope you all have a great week! Until next time!
